The Community of East Palo Alto

Updated: Mar 7, 2020

Overview

Strategically located in San Mateo County, East Palo Alto adjoins the San Francisco Bay from the east, Menlo Park from the west, and Palo Alto from the south. Within this city, there are miles of wetlands accompanied by stunning views of the beautiful Diablo Mountain Range. With arguably the most desirable weather in the nation, some of the best activities include biking and jogging along the dirt path connecting the Peninsula.

Trade in East Palo Alto has historically focused on ranching, farming, brick manufacturing shipping, and transportation. Recently, it has experienced a significant increase in jobs and opportunities with the addition of tech companies moving into the region. Some of these companies include:

  • Facebook

  • Google’s Campus

  • NASA Ames Research Center

  • Amazon

  • IKEA

This influx has created a booming real estate market with the median home price set at $1 million. With all of the sights that surround East Palo Alto, the city is a great opportunity for investing in a property of your own. The influx of tech industries allowing for more jobs and more opportunities makes it a good place to sell or buy property for yourself, your business, or just for the land.

Many of the parks in East Palo Alto are very open and allow for a lot of open space activity. This allows for a lot of light and beautiful views of the sky while you are walking a trail, biking, or maybe walking your dog. Some are connected to smaller bodies of water, so you can enjoy your surroundings and have more to see.

  • Bell Street Park

  • Cooley Landing Park

  • Jack Farrell Par

  • Joel Davis Park (formerly University SquarePark)

  • Martin Luther King Park

  • Pocket Park at Newbridge

There are not many places in East Palo Alto that offer a lot in terms of things to do, but there are quite a few places a few miles outside of the city that give the residence something fun to do. These areas are beautiful, and the experiences could last a lifetime. If you do decide to buy property in the city, know that there are wonderful places, just a few miles outside, that will be worth it.
